Thanksgiving and Bad Weather

November 22

The roads are too icy to drive from Hartford to family in Rhode Island. We pack up the kids, the hot dishes and slide off to the church parish house.
There are about fifty adults and children from the neighborhood there. We are different colors, and we speak different languages. We stand hand in hand giving thanks for all God’s bounty. We break bread and share the Lord’s Supper before eating our own.
We arrived as hungry strangers. We leave filled with food, fellowship and God’s blessings. This is a Thanksgiving I shall long cherish. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. (Psalm 95:2)
