Remember the short tax collector who climbed a tree to better see Jesus. When Jesus arrives at that tree He says, "Zacchaeus, come down now, I must stay at your house today."
What if Jesus wanted to stay at your house? Would you call a cleaning service or suggest an upscale restaurant. Or would you do what Zacchaeus did, over dinner, pledge half his possessions to the poor.
We don't need any more motivation than what Jesus said to Zacchaeus.
"Today salvation has come to this house because this man too, is a son of Abraham, For the
Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:9-10 NIV)
