Stand-in-the-Gap

October 4

A million men gather on the Mall in Washington D.C. on this day (1997) to humble themselves before their God.
We find a place to sit 500 yards from the main stage. It is 6:30 a.m.and the program starts at 1 p.m. It is moving to see so many men from churches all over this nation arriving to Stand in the Gap.

One speaker says, "Most assemblies on this mall demand rights. We are here to confess our wrongs." We are also here to pray for each other and our nation.

" If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT)
