Polio! The word terrorized parents and children alike when I was growing up.
A lot of prayers were answered when Dr. Jonas Salk discovered an effective vaccine. In this 21st century scientists project 21 million will die from Aids in Africa alone. That’s more than all killed during WWII. And now there is a bird flu pandemic on the horizon.
I give thanks to God for the army of people who eradicated polio. Now we need a new army to win the battles of aids, flu and cancer.

"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
